PREVIEW: Moneyfelds (H)

November 22, 2024

Cheltenham Town Women will be looking to make it to the Third Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the fourth time in their history, as they welcome Moneyfields Women to Kayte Lane on Sunday (2pm kick-off).

The three previous occasions were in 2008/09, and twice under current manager Tom Davies in 2020/21 and last season. The Robinesses beat Cardiff City Ladies (now Gwalia United) and Exeter City to reach the Third Round, ultimately losing out to then Women’s Championship side Reading, at Kayte Lane.

The Robinesses come into this game after a massive 2-0 win over Plymouth Argyle last weekend. Goals from Una Lue and captain Emily Owen gave Cheltenham their first league win since August.

Moneyfields are the visitors to Gloucestershire this weekend, and the Hampshire side have their own recent FA Cup pedigree to boast, having reached the Fourth Round last term. They beat Gloucester City, Ashford Town, Haringey Borough and Millwall Lionesses to reach that stage, eventually losing to Women’s Championship side London City Lionesses last January.

This weekend continues a crucial part of the season for Davies’ side, as after this weekend’s tie, they travel up north for the FA Women’s National League Plate Quarter Finals against Stockport County. If they beat Moneyfields they will have their Third Round clash on Sunday December 8, and will finish the year with MK Dons visiting Kayte Lane on Sunday December 15.

Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s, and can be purchased here or on the gate.
Information on travel to Kayte Lane (GL52 3PD) can be found here.

For supporters unable to attend, live-action updates will be provided on the Club’s X Account (formerly Twitter) as well as on Instagram.
