Welcome to Cheltenham Town Women Football Club

Cheltenham Town Women FC are the leading women’s football club in Gloucestershire and the wider region with almost 150 members. The First Team play in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division, the Third Tier of the English Women’s Football pyramid.

The club itself is continuously developing and improving, in 2024/25 the First Team finished Eighth in the league, made the Fourth Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the first time, as well as reaching the Final of the FA WNL Plate Competition for the first time ever in Club history.

The First Team play their home fixtures at Kayte Lane, groundsharing with Bishops Cleeve FC, who play in the Southern League Division One South of the Men’s Football pyramid.

Our Youth section offers a clear pathway for Girls and Women’s Football, starting at Under 8’s level.

First Team Manager Tom Davies was appointed in May 2020 after joining the club the previous summer as Assistant Manager, and has now overseen 125+ games as Manager. Davies is ably assisted by new Assistant Manager Ryan Marvin Dempsey, First Team Coaches Luke Beardsmore & Jamie-Lloyd Davies. Fraser Linnitt and Chloe Bakewell-Barratt lead medical provisions, supported by Kayleigh Brown (Medical Student).

Our sponsors continue to be impressed by our achievements, and we are always looking to attract more partnerships and sponsorship deals. Our audience and exposure reached over a million people during the past year thanks to radio, website, newspaper, and social media.

A BRIEF HISTORY

Formed in 1989 from a 5 a side team Cheltenham Town WFC started life as Cheltenham YMCA in the South West Combination League.

1998/99: League runner-up.

2000/01: League runner-up.

2007/2008: Runners up in South-West Women’s Football League.

2008/2009: The club reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round for the first time as well as finishing the GLoucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy as runner-up.

July 2009: New committee formed and junior managers appointed.

2009/2010: First and Reserve teams, plus newly formed junior teams, entered. Umbro Fives finalists at Wembley.

2013/2014: First Team join the FA Women’s Premier League (Now FA Women’s National League).

2014/15: Gloucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy runner-up.

2016/17: Gloucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy winners.

2017/18: Gloucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy runner-up.

2018/19: Gloucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy winners. First Team and Reserve Team both record their highest ever league finishes. The club is named as one of three winners of Respect Club Of The Year.

2020/21: Reached the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Third Round Proper for only the second time in the Club’s history.

2021/22: Crowned FA Women’s National League Division One South-West Champions. First Team reached the semi-finals of the FA Women’s National League Plate. Gloucestershire FA County Women’s Trophy winners.

2022/23: Achieved a highest-ever league finish, 8th in the FA Women’s National League Premier South.

2023/24: Achieved a new highest-ever league finish, 7th, in the FA Women’s National League Premier South, and reached the Third Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the third time in the Club’s history.

2024/25: Reached the Fourth Round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup for the first time ever in the Club history. Reached the Final of the FA Women’s National League Plate.
