The Opportunity
Cheltenham Town Women FC is seeking an experienced and passionate Chairperson to succeed our existing Chair, who is stepping down after 12 years in the role.
This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in the next chapter of an ambitious Tier 3 women’s football club, helping to shape its future both on and off the pitch.
The Chairperson will provide strategic and hands-on leadership across the club, working with the Board, football staff, volunteers, supporters and partners to build a sustainable, successful and community-focused organisation.

Cheltenham Town Women FC competes at Tier 3 of the English women’s football pyramid and is committed to developing women’s football across Cheltenham and Gloucestershire.
We are an ambitious, community-focused club providing opportunities for players to compete at a high level while working to build a sustainable and successful future for women’s football in the region.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a leader who understands the women’s game and has the experience, ambition and collaborative approach to help take Cheltenham Town Women FC forward.
The successful candidate will ideally bring:
- Leadership and governance experience
- An understanding of women’s football and the English football pyramid
- Strategic and commercial awareness
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
- A genuine commitment to the development of women’s football
Experience within women’s football, particularly at Tier 3 or within the FA Women’s National League, would be highly valuable.

Commitment
This is a voluntary Chairperson position requiring a significant commitment to the club, including regular Board meetings, engagement between meetings, selected fixtures and events, and representation of the club at relevant football, community and commercial engagements.
The Chairperson should also be available to provide additional leadership and support during key strategic, financial or organisational periods.
