Cheltenham Town Women return to winning ways with a 3-0 win against Billericay Town.
Goals from Meg Arnott, captain Emily Owen and Bella Hall gifted the Robinessess all three points.
First Half:
Cheltenham made a quick start to the half, Hall dragging Anais Trinci’s ball into the area wide within the opening minutes.
The Robinessess took the lead through Arnott, who was at the right place at the right time to slam the ball into the back of the net from close range.
Skipper Emily Owen met Trinci’s corner, her header cleared off the line, before Arnott stabbed home.
Tom Davies’ side had chances to double their lead before the break, striker Una Lue and Hall having efforts on goal.
Striker Hall ran down on goal, and squared the ball to Lue, who’s effort was well-saved by Tyrii Bell, before Trinci’s effort was cleared off the line.
It ended 1-0 to Cheltenham at half-time.
Second Half:
The second half started the same as the first, the Robinesses wanting another goal.
Karly Norman played in Issy Newns, who’s ball across the goal was cleared away for a corner, before goalscorer Arnott won the ball in the midfield, and played in Hall, but she wasn’t able to convert, her powerful effort wide of the far post.
Newns then hit the post from a tight angle, before Davies’ side did double the lead.
Trinci’s corner again was straight onto the head of skipper Owen, who made no mistake this time, heading home.
After a few more half chances went abegging, Hall deservedly got a third in stoppage time.
Substitute Anaiya Brady played Hall in down the line, before the striker unleashed a powerful effort from a tight angle, that nestled into the far corner.
The Robinesses picked up all three points in their final home game of the year, and travel to Exeter City next week for the final game of 2025.
