Preview: Lewes FC

November 1, 2025

Cheltenham Town Women host Lewes FC Women in the Southern Premier Division on Sunday (Kick off 2 pm).

This will be the first of two meetings this month, with Lewes travelling back to Gloucestershire in a few weeks when the two sides meet again in the second round of the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Tom Davies’ side come into the game off the back of their first draw of this season, after a late late leveller by Gwalia United on Thursday night.

Emily Owen gave the Robinesses the lead from the penalty spot, after Una Lue was brought down.

However, a 94th minute equaliser from Gwalia’s captain Cori Williams-Mills left Cheltenham with only a point to show for their efforts in the Cardiff rain.

The draw rounded off what had been a positive month for us, with a 2-0 defeat to Plymouth Argyle at the start of the month being the only loss on record for October.

Wins over Southampton PGA, AFC Wimbledon and Millwall Lionesses saw Davies’ team progress into the second round of two competitions, the FAWNL League Cup and the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.

Our opposition for Sunday, Lewes, come into the match in a similar vein of form.

A 2-1 loss to AFC Bournemouth started off October, but similarly to Cheltenham, three straight wins in three competitions followed.

Lewes progressed in both the League Cup and FA Cup, with a 4-1 win away to Hashtag United and a 4-0 victory over Corsham Town, booking their place in the second round of both the respective competitions, with a 4-0 win over Gwalia before the cup action.

Their midweek clash against AFC Wimbledon ended in defeat however, losing 3-0 to the Dons on Wednesday night.

Tickets for the game are £6 for adults and £1 for U18S, with tickets available in advance here for home fans and also available on the gate.
