Cheltenham Town host Plymouth Argyle at Kayte Lane on Sunday (2pm kick-off) as the spotlight returns to the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.
After winning all three of their FAWNL Cup group stage matches, Tom Davies’ side will be aiming to carry that momentum into the league as the Robinesses chase their third league win of the season.
Goals from four different scorers last weekend saw Cheltenham win away at Kidderminster Harriers 5-1, despite going behind early on.
Libby Bell’s brace, as well as goals from Louise Guymira, Amelie Curtis, and Meg Arnott saw the side top Group F in emphatic style, leading to a home draw against Southampton Under-21s in the first round of the cup.
However, Sunday’s opponents, Plymouth, will be no easy task, and currently sit in third place, on 10 points, losing just one of their opening five games.
Marie Hourihan has, as a result, been nominated for the August FAWNL manager of the month award, with her side unbeaten in the last six matches.
This includes an emphatic 6-0 win last weekend against Bristol Rovers in the Cup, which followed a comfortable 4-0 league win away at Lewes the weekend before.
Against Argyle last season, Cheltenham picked up a maximum of six points.
A 4-0 win against Plymouth opened last season, with a 2-0 win away from home later in the season.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under-18s. Cheltenham supporters can purchase their tickets in advance HERE, whilst visiting Plymouth fans can purchase their tickets HERE.
