Cheltenham Town make the short trip to Worcester this Saturday (2 pm kick-off) to face Kidderminster Harriers in the final group matchday of the FAWNL Cup.
After suffering a 2-0 defeat against top-of-the-league AFC Bournemouth last weekend, Tom Davies’ side will look to bounce back against the Harriers as focus returns to the cup.
After a 2-0 win over Worcester City and a 4-0 win over Birmingham City Under-21s, the Robinesses are in a strong position and are currently sitting top of Group F, only a point needed to secure a spot in the next round.
Their opponents for this clash sit third, picking up a point in a 2-2 draw against Birmingham U21’s after finding themselves 2-0 behind, and need a win in order to have any chance of progressing into the next round of the Cup, after losing 2-0 to Worcester City.
Harriers come into the game off the back of a 4-0 loss to Barnsley Women last weekend. The week before, they produced an impressive win over rivals Stourbridge, beating their local rivals 1-0.
If Davies’ side finish top, they will secure progress into the next round of the FAWNL Cup. The 10 best runners-up will also secure passage into the next round of the cup, whilst the other 12 runners-up and 20 best-placed third-placed teams will advance to the Plate knockout stages.
Tickets are £6 and are available on the gate at Droitwich Spa FC.
For supporters unable to attend Sunday’s game, updates will be provided on the club’s X (formerly Twitter)page as well as on Instagram.
