Preview: Real Bedford (H)

August 13, 2026

Cheltenham Town host Real Bedford in the first game of the 2026/27 season at Kayte Lane this Sunday (2pm kick-off).

After a positive end to pre-season, Tom Davies’ side will be looking to start the season on a high against tough opposition at home this weekend.

The Pirates rounded off their pre-season with a 2-0 win over Northern Premier Division side Loughborough Lightning and also recorded strong wins against the likes of Northampton Town, Wycombe Wanderers and London Bees.

Real Bedford have been busy in the summer market, adding seven new faces to the squad, with former Watford quartet Dre Georgiou, Sophie McLean, Lily Whitelock and Daisy Hind joining the club. On top of this, Zynia Delgyn, Ellie Head, and Blue Bartlett-Antwi have also linked up with Charlie Bill’s side.

The Pirates are familiar opponents to the Robinesses, finishing their first season in Tier Three midtable in sixth, and will be looking to improve on that position this campaign.

Last season, Cheltenham ran out 4-1 winners away from home at the Ledger Stadium thanks to goals from Bella Hall, Amelie Curtis, Libby Bell and Louise Guymira. However, the reverse fixture at Kayte Lane in January ended in a 5-1 defeat.

Tickets are £7.50 for Adults, £5 for Students (valid student ID required at the gate), £1 for Under-18s and £15 for a Family (2 Adults and up to 4 U18s), whilst Cheltenham Town FC Season Ticket holders and Robins Trust members all receive complimentary entry.
