March 20, 2026
Cheltenham Town Women host AFC Wimbledon Women in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division this weekend, in what is set to be a massive game in the context of the league.
Despite the 3-0 defeat to Plymouth last time out, it was a much stronger showing from Tom Davies’ side.
However, his side has failed to register a league win in 2026, with three defeats against the top three in the last four weeks.
AFC Wimbledon sit in the relegation zone going into the game, but are just three points off Cheltenham in 8th.
Wimbledon were in County Cup action last weekend, beating Brentford 4-3, but their last league game was one to forget.
A heavy 5-0 defeat to Gwalia United on the 8th March was their 11th loss of the season.
Heading into Sunday, Wimbledon have scored the same amount of goals as Cheltenham, 23, with captain Ashlee Hincks scoring 11 of them.
The league meeting between these two sides earlier in the season proved to be an entertaining game, a 2-1 victory for the Robinesses.
Meg Arnott opened the scoring on the half-hour mark to give Cheltenham a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Daisy McLachlan levelled for the hosts after 63 minutes, but Bella Hall replied instantly to score the winner for Cheltenham.
The wait still goes on for a record-equalling victory, a win against Wimbledon would take Cheltenham onto seven for the season to equal last season’s record.
Tickets are £6 for adults and £1 for Under 18’s. Cheltenham supporters can purchase their tickets HERE via FanBase. AFC Wimbledon supporters making the trip from London can buy tickets in advance here, via TicketTailor. Supporters are advised they can also pay for entry at the turnstiles.
