Cheltenham Town suffered a 3-0 defeat against promotion-pushing Plymouth Argyle at Home Park on Sunday afternoon.
Goals from Tianna Tesiar, Ellie Noble and Paris Dalton gave the hosts all three points.
First Half:
Argyle made a fast start, Layla Proctor hitting the post, before Poppy Irvine was called into action, making a great low save to deny Teisar.
The crossbar was then rattled when Tamara Wilcock ran in behind.
The Robinesses grew into the game as play ticked on, the game end to end for the rest of the half.
Cheltenham had a spell of possession around the 20th-minute mark, Bella Hall having an effort blocked, and Georgia Galley’s crosses into the box not met by anyone in red and white.
Millie Pullen had the ball in the back of the net on the half an hour mark, but was flagged offside, Mary Brittain managing to get on the end of a long ball in, before knocking it down to Pullen, who was in an offside position.
Charlotte Salisbury-Williams cleared the ball off the line, whilst up the other end, Em Owen’s freekick was held at the second time of asking by Hermione Cull.
The hosts scored before the half time break, Francis’ deflected effort coming off the leg of the unsuspecting Tesiar, and nestling into the right-hand corner.
Pheobie Poole saw an effort cannon off the bar for a second time, the ball bouncing on the goal line before the Robinesses cleared.
Second Half:
The second half started much like the first, Francis seeing another effort crash off the woodwork.
However, Noble did double their lead just after the hour mark, her uncontested header giving Argyle a second.
Cheltenham found themselves down to 10 players with just over 10 minutes to go, Evans shown a second yellow.
Marie Hourihan’s side added a third with two minutes left, substitute Dalton poking home from a corner.
Cheltenham host AFC Wimbledon at Kayte Lane next Sunday (2pm).
Cheltenham: Irvine; Salisbury-Williams, Owen, Llewellyn, Bell; Evans, Curtis (Arnott 90), Brittain (Jones 73); Pullen, Hall (Norman 84), Galley (Trinci 65)
