Cheltenham Town Pick Up All Three Points In Dominant Win Over Swindon Town

October 30, 2026

Cheltenham Town Women picked up their second league win of the season in a 5-1 win over Swindon Town at Kayte Lane on Thursday evening.

A hat-trick from Leo Joyce, as well as goals from Chloe Snook and Lilly Wellesley-Davies, ruled out Annie Colston’s spot kick.

The game started evenly with Cheltenham and Swindon both having half chances and calling keepers Lily Felgate and Mia Smith into action early doors.

But after some sustained pressure, Cheltenham got the all-important opener just after the 15-minute mark, Joyce running half the length of the pitch before slotting home one-on-one.

It was two through Joyce again as the half went on, the striker lobbing Smith in goal after pressing and winning the ball high up the pitch.

However, the visitors got one back from the spot before half-time, Colston making no mistake and converting from 12 yards.

It finished 2-1 to the hosts at the break.

It didn’t take long in the second half for strike partner to Snook also get on the scoresheet, Charlotte Salisbury-Williams’ pin-point low cross tucked home to restore the two-goal advantage.

Joyce got her well-deserved hat-trick just after the hour mark, as she and Snook combined outside the area before Joyce took aim, once again slotting home at the near post.

As the clock ticked on, Swindon defender Sahara Osborne-Ricketts was shown a straight red card for off-the-ball conduct, and reduced her side to 10 players for the last few minutes.

Defender Wellesley-Davies took advantage of this and added a fifth with a minute of normal time left, her pinpoint free-kick unstoppable and nestling into the top right-hand corner.

Casi Evans had a chance to add another from the spot after Indie Power was brought down inside the box, but her effort was wide of the post.
