Cheltenham Town Suffer Defeat On Road in Nine-Goal Encounter.

October 18, 2026

Cheltenham Town Women suffered a 6-3 defeat on the road against Portsmouth at Fratton Park on Sunday afternoon.

Goals from Kerry Beattie, Georgia Freeland, Reanna Blades, Jazz Bull and Jemima Dahou ruled out goals from Chloe Snook and Leo Joyce.

Cheltenham raced into the lead at Fratton Park, striker Snook in the right place at the right time to turn in Charlotte Salisbury-Williams’ corner within the opening 10 minutes.

However, the hosts came close on several occasions, efforts from Beattie and Alisha Ware dropped narrowly wide of the target.

Pompey were then awarded a penalty on the 33rd minute mark, Beattie making no mistake from the spot and slotting into the bottom left-hand corner.

After a few half-chances, the game finished 1-1 going into the break.

Much like the first half, there was an early goal, however, this time it was the hosts, Freeland converting from close-range less than a minute into the half.

It was soon four, as Blades and Beattie fired home just before the hour mark to add to the advantage.

The Robinesses almost got one back through Libby Bell, Leo Joyce playing her in, but her powerful effort went narrowly wide of the far post.

Ware had the chance to add a fifth up the other end of the pitch, her volleyed effort over the bar.

Snook got one back with 20 minutes left on the clock, capitalising on a defensive error and scoring past the outstretched hands of Hermione Cull in net.

Pompey then added a fifth through Bull, her long-range effort cannoning off the post and in.

However, Joyce added a third for the visitors, her looping header lobbing Cull, but Pompey added a sixth, Dahou scoring from distance a minute later.

After three minutes of added time, it finished 6-3.

Cheltenham return to Fratton Park next week to play Portsmouth again in the First Round of the Women’s FA Cup.
