Cheltenham Town Share Spoils In 2-2 Draw Against Hashtag United

October 4, 2026

Cheltenham Town Women shared the points against Hashtag United in a 2-2 draw at Kayte Lane on Sunday afternoon.

A second-half brace from Chloe Snook wasn’t enough to pick up all three points in the close encounter, with Emma Samways and Natasha Snelling getting on the scoresheet for the visitors.

Hashtag United started the game well with Chloe Jones being forced into an early save from Ang Nelson-Lye just under five minutes into the game.

Both teams had a positive start, with the biggest chance coming from Snook, who hit the bar from close range with a looping header after a lovely cross from Leo Joyce from the left-hand side.

However, 13 minutes into the game it was the visitors who opened the scoring after Samway slotted home from close range against the run of play.

After a few more half-chances for both sides, it ended 1-0 to the Tags at the break.

Hashtag started the second half how they did the first, as they kept testing Jones in goal around the 50th-minute mark as Cheltenham continued to push for the first.

Samway had the first real chance of the second half, unmarked on the half volley, but made a mess of it and fired over the crossbar.

Cheltenham’s efforts were rewarded just before the hour mark, a lovely finish from Snook, who found her way through the Hashtag defence and chipped the keeper putting the game level.

Cheltenham continued to push forward, and won a penalty just over the hour mark, skipper Owen stepping up to take it.

However, her left footed attempt to find the bottom corner was saved by Hartley, keeping the scoreline level for now.

Snook would get her second of the game to give Cheltenham the 2-1 lead not long after, a lovely move by striker-partner Joyce finding her at the back post, and Snook slotted it home, giving the hosts the lead.

Hashtag wouldn’t held for long, however, as they would level the game with 15 left in the game.

Natasha Snelling found herself unmarked in the box and tapped it past the helpless Jones to bring the game level once again.

The game settled down going into the final 10 minutes, as both teams tried to push for a winner late on, and Hashtag came close, hitting the bar from miles out.

Owen would try her luck from long-range late on, but it ended up wide, keeping the score level as the game pushed on into added time.

The game ended 2-2 after a tough fought game, with focus turning to next weekend, Cheltenham facing Plymouth Argyle at home.
