Cheltenham Town make the trip South to face AFC Bournemouth at the Bob Lucas Stadium in the first away game of the season on Sunday (2pm kick-off).
Following a 3-1 defeat to Real Bedford last weekend, Tom Davies and his side are looking for a response this weekend but know it will be no easy task against a side who have their sights set on promotion.
AFC Bournemouth have been active and have strengthened their squad in the summer window, bringing in the likes of Issy Bryant, Scarlett Williams, Caitlin Smith, Tia Young, Tamara Wilcock and former Robiness, Bella Hall, in from Tier Three rivals, whilst Issy Watts, Kyra Robertson, Ella Stowell and Tilly Wilkes have all made the step down from clubs in WSL2.
The Cherries picked up all three points in their first game on the road last Sunday, with a second-half strike from Jenna Markham earning them a narrow 1-0 win over AFC Wimbledon, leaving them currently sat fourth.
Bournemouth are familiar opposition to Cheltenham and finished their debut season in the FAWNL Southern Premier Division last season with a third-placed finish.
The Robinesses will be looking to rectify last season’s misfortunes against Helen Bleazard’s side, with defeats coming both home and away in last season’s clashes with the Cherries.
