Cheltenham Town Add Welsh Youth International Kiera O’Keefe To Roster

August 7, 2026

Cheltenham Town Women are pleased to announce the signing of young midfielder Kiera O’Keefe.

The Welsh youth international joins the club from Tier Four side Gwalia United.

O’Keefe made over 25 first-team appearances for the Welsh outfit last season. She scored three goals, including one against her new club in February, and registered a further three assists in all competitions.

In total, the midfielder has made over 40 appearances at Tier Three level for the Welsh outfit, and has featured for Wales at Under-15, U16, U17 and U19 levels.

On joining the club, the teenager said: “I’m really looking forward to being here. I’ve heard good things about Cheltenham, and I can’t wait to be a part of it.”

On linking up with her international teammates, O’Keefe claimed: “It’s really helpful because we have a couple of girls here and I’ve got lots of friends here who play for Wales, so we already know each other’s playing styles, which helps.”

Echoing the thoughts of now fellow teammate Shurima Vine, the midfielder explained the positives of stepping into women’s football at such a young age: “It was really good to step up from youth football to women’s football; it was a challenging step, and I took valuable experiences from playing women’s football.”

Not only will she link up with fellow youth international and Gwalia teammate Shurima Vine, but she’ll also join Wales representatives Amelie Curtis, Casi Evans, Charlotte Salisbury-Williams, and new Robiness Ruby Day, who joined from Bristol City, at Kayte Lane ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Welcome to Cheltenham, Kiera!
