Cheltenham Town Women are pleased to announce the signing of fullback Evie Murphy.
The fullback links up with Tom Davies’ squad on a permanent deal following her departure from Tier Three rivals AFC Bournemouth.
Murphy leaves the Cherries after three seasons, in which she’s left as a decorated footballer after helping the development side win back-to-back league titles and the FAWNL Reserve Cup.
The fullback made three first-team appearances last season and has also represented the England Colleges team on multiple occasions.
Settling into her new surroundings, Murphy said: “It feels fantastic. I’m really excited. We’ve done two weeks of training and had our games. It’s a great group of people. I’m excited to join, and I think it’ll be really good for my first step into women’s football.”
On her previous experiences, Murphy claimed: “It was great to get a taste of women’s football, and I just want to get more minutes under my belt and become stronger and better myself. I just think this is a really good step for me to take.”
She becomes Cheltenham’s third summer signing, following in the footsteps of Ruby Day and Shurima Vine ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.
Welcome to Cheltenham, Evie!
