Cheltenham Town Women are excited to announce the signing of defender Shurima Vine.
The teenager joins the club on a permanent deal from Welsh outfit, Gwalia United.
Vine made 32 First Team appearances in all competitions for Gwalia during her time with the club. 22 of those came at Tier Three level, after she joined the side from Bristol City Professional Game Academy in the summer of 2024
The 19 year old has come through the ranks with Wales, playing at Under 15, U16, U17 and U19 level, and will link up with Welsh counterparts Casi Evans, Amelie Curtis, Charlotte Salisbury-Williams, and fellow new-Robiness, Ruby Day.
On joining the club, Vine said “It feels really good to join the club. I’m so excited for this new opportunity for me. All the girls here are lovely, and we’ve been training for a bit now and it has been absolutely brilliant. I’m so excited for the actual season to start as well. I love it here. I think the girls and staff are so helpful.”
Speaking on her previous Tier Three experience, Vine stated: I’m more confident as a player now. At the time, it was a big jump, but it was definitely something I needed to do for my progression as a player.”
The teenager becomes the Robinesses’ second summer signing following the addition of Ruby Day ahead of the start of the 2026/27 season.
Welcome to Cheltenham, Shurima!
