Cheltenham Town Women will be looking to kickstart a successful end to the season as they welcome Watford Women to Kayte Lane on Sunday. (2pm kick-off)
Tom Davies’ side will be riding high after their 11-0 rout of Tier Five Pucklechurch last Sunday, which sealed a home semi-final in the Gloucestershire Senior Women’s Cup against Forest Green Rovers, which will take place on Sunday March 16.
The other semi-final is a Bristol derby as Women’s National League Division One South West side Bristol Rovers take on Bristol City U21s.
The visitors to Kayte Lane are Renee Hector’s Watford, who currently sit in fifth place on 26 points, five points behind third place Oxford United with two games in hand. The Robinesses currently sit in ninth, four points clear of Billericay Town who occupy the final relegation place. It’s a crucial game at the bottom of the WNL Southern Premier Division as Billericay take on 10th placed Plymouth Argyle.
In the reverse fixture back in September, the Golden Girls came out 2-0 winners at Grosvenor Vale. After a goalless first half, Megan Chandler and Anna Filbey sealed the three points.
This starts a crucial league spell for the Robinesses, as they take on four sides that they only got a point out of back in the reverse fixtures. After the visit of Watford, they take on AFC Wimbledon at Raynes Park Vale on Sunday March 2, Hashtag United at Parkside on Sunday March 9, and after the County Cup Semi-Final against FGR, a trip to St James Park to take on fourth placed Exeter City.
A date and location have also been confirmed for Cheltenham’s FA WNL Plate Final. The showpiece against Tier Four side AFC Bournemouth will take place on Sunday April 13, at the MGroup Stadium, (Home of Oxford United Women and Oxford City FC Men) OX3 0NQ. Tickets will be released in due course on Oxford City’s website.
Due to this rearrangement, the Robinesses’ final home game of the season has been rescheduled, as they’ll now take on Lewes at Kayte Lane on Sunday March 30.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s. Cheltenham supporters can be purchase their tickets here via new Club partner, FanBase, or on the gate.
