Cheltenham Town Women will be looking to bounce back from midweek defeat against Gwalia United, when they welcome Pucklechurch Sports to Kayte Lane in the final Group Stage match of the Gloucestershire FA Senior Women’s Cup on Sunday (2pm kickoff).
Manon Pearce opened the scoring for Gwalia United in the seventh minute, and despite Captain Emily Owen netting a penalty ten minutes from time, Pearce got her brace with a few minutes remaining, giving Gwalia all three points in South Wales.
This weekend, focus shifts to the Gloucestershire Senior Women’s Cup, which Tom Davies’ side started with a 1-0 win against Bristol Rovers four weeks ago. A solitary goal from Meg Attenborough secured the win at Bristol Manor Farm.
This Sunday’s visitors, Pucklechurch, currently sit in the South West Regional Women’s Football League, and their opening County Cup game ended in a 1-0 defeat to Bristol Rovers back in November.
For Pucklechurch to progress, they would need to beat Cheltenham, whereas the Robinesses only need a point to confirm their progression to the Semi-Finals, by finishing top in Group B. Group A’s finale sees Bristol City U21s take on Forest Green Rovers, with Cheltenham facing the runner up if they finish top of their group.
After this County Cup fixture, Cheltenham have three straight league games, as they take on Watford at Kayte Lane on Sunday February 23, AFC Wimbledon at Raynes Park Vale on Sunday March 2, and Hashtag United at Parkside on Sunday March 9.
Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s. Cheltenham supporters can be purchase their tickets here via new Club partner, FanBase, or on the gate.
