As The Robinesses take a step closer to the start of the FA Women’s National League, tireless midfielder Abby Bevan, set-piece specialist and creative passer Charlotte Criddle commit the club for another season, and they were joined by Wales U19 international and FA College’s National Team players, Becks Halford and Jess Hood.

 

Abby Bevan|Midfielder

Last season’s Player of the Year, Abby joined the Robinesses from West Brom in February 2019 and has been integral to the club’s success. The former defensive midfielder has a fantastic amount of energy and runs non-stop. Comfortable in attack or defence, she also has a knack of scoring from outside the penalty area.

For the 2020/21 season, Abby will be sponsored by Pears Home Improvements and Litchy Creative

 
 
 

Charlotte Criddle|Midfielder

A summer signing from Wolves Women at the start of last season, Charlotte has shown fantastic talent as a playmaking midfielder with an impressive ability to pick out a long range pass. With a gifted first touch, and a rocket of a long-range shot, “Crids” also poses a threat when it comes to set pieces.

For the 2020/21 season, Charl will be sponsored by Engineering Integration

 
 
 

Becks Halford|Defender

Wales Under 19’s international, Becks, joins from Yeovil Town Women of the FA WNL Southern Premier league. A versatile defender who can play in a number of positions, including in midfield, Becks is hoping to build on The Robinesses’ defensive strengths from last season and keep opposition chances to a minimum

 
 
 

Jess Hood|Midfielder

Skilful young midfielder Jess joins from West Bromwich Albion Women of the FA WNL Northern Premier. A creative player who can unpick defences with her passing, Jess is hoping to improve not only the club’s league standing but her personal ability too.

 
 

Reaction

Tom Davies was very please that both Bevan and Criddle had committed ahead of the season.

Davies told ctlfc.com “I’m delighted that Abby & Crids have resigned. Abby is both very athletic and physicaly strong. She stretches sides, continuously creates options to support others, and much deserved Alex’s manager’s player for last season.

“Crids [Charlotte Criddle] has worked extremely hard over the off-season. She’s become a lot fitter and it’s allowed her to play in a way that’s more natural to her and the side. She’s got one of the best passing ranges around as well as being deadly from set plays.

“Becks [Halford] is a great addition, she’s strong and composed which paired with her exposure to international football and higher leagues gives her a great understanding of the game.”

With the signing of Jess Hood receiving a lot of attention on social media, Tom commented “Jess is a player who is technically strong, comfortable in possession, and is someone who can unlock teams with her creativity. I’m delighted that she’s agreed to join Cheltenham for her venture into women’s football!”
