Preview: AFC Bournemouth (H)

March 8, 2026

Cheltenham Town welcome promotion-hunting AFC Bournemouth to Kayte Lane on Sunday afternoon (2pm kick-off).

The tough games do not stop for Cheltenham, with Tom Davies’ side taking on another promotion hopeful.

Cheltenham suffered a 3-0 defeat to top-of-the-table Watford last time out two weeks ago, and that followed a midweek 2-2 draw with Gwalia United, in which new strikers Indie Power and Georgia Galley both netted their first goals for the club.

Although it will be a tough ask for the Robinesses, picking up a win would equal the highest number of wins ever recorded at Tier Three level, the record standing at seven, a record that was set last season.

Despite the fact Helen Bleazard’s side sit third, they have games in hand over top of theleague Watford and second-placed Plymouth Argyle, and are looking to achieve back-to-back promotions.

In all competitions, the Cherries have won four of their last five, but suffered a shock 1-0 defeat to Oxford United, a defeat which ended their 1,081-day unbeaten league run a few weeks ago.

However, since then, they have bounced back well, registering a 2-0 win over Gwalia and a 4-1 win over Real Bedford last weekend.

It finished 2-0 to Bournemouth the last time the two sides met, second-half goals from Gemma McGuiness and Georgia Wilson condemning the Robinesses to a defeat on the road.

Tickets for the game are £6 for adults and £1 for U18s, with tickets available in advance HERE for home fans and here for away fans. Tickets are also available to buy on the gate.
