Preview: Gwalia United (H)

February 17, 2026

Cheltenham Town host Gwalia United at Kayte Lane on Thursday evening (7.45pm kick-off) in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division.

After hosting Bristol Rovers in the GFA Senior Cup on Sunday, attention turns back to the league, with Welsh outfit Gwalia make the short trip to Gloucestershire for the second game within a week for the Robinesses.

Despite recent poor form, this is another chance for Cheltenham to pick up that crucial seventh win of the season, a win that would equal the record for the highest number of wins in a Tier Three season.

However, Tom Davies’ side will know that this will not be an easy test, with Gwalia suffering just one defeat in their last five games, coming in the FAWNL Plate semi-final against Moneyfields.

A 0-0 draw with both Plymouth Argyle and Hashtag United, as well as a 2-1 win over Billericay Town, have seen Gwalia climb to 10th place, four points from 11th-placed AFC Wimbledon, who sit in the relegation zone.

When the two sides clashed in Cardiff earlier this season, it ended in a 1-1 draw, an Emily Owen penalty not enough to take all three points back to Cheltenham after a late equaliser from now player-manager Cori Williams-Mills.

Tickets for the game are £6 for adults and £1 for U18s, with tickets available in advance HERE for home fans and here for away fans. Tickets are also available to buy on the gate. Gates open at 6:15pm.
