Cheltenham Town Women are delighted to announce the signing of goalkeeper Anna Draper, who comes straight into the team for today’s clash with Hashtag United.
Draper joins after being a free agent, having previously spent time at MK Dons, Derby and Aston Villa.
On joining the Robinesses, Draper said, “It feels great to be joining Cheltenham and hitting the ground running against Hashtag this weekend.
“It’s an important game for us in terms of getting three points and where we could be at the halfway stage of the season.
“These kinds of games are always exciting, and it’s another opportunity for a strong team performance and to bring three points home.”
Having watched Cheltenham’s season from afar, Draper said, “It’s been positive from an outsider perspective. The league has a nature for being quite close at times, so key wins have been really important in getting to the position we are now and sets us in a good place for the next half of the season.
“I’m also excited to be a part of the FA Cup run with the squad, so I’m looking forward to being out on the pitch and helping the team.”
After today’s clash with Hashtag, Tom Davies’ side take on Lewes FC in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup clash, with tickets available to buy in advance here.
After training with the squad this week, Draper said, “Everyone at the club has been fantastic!
“I’ve had a really warm welcome, the players and staff are all great, and I’m enjoying training with them and preparing for 11-a-side games again.
“I’ve had a few months away to allow me to balance my Industrial Placement for university, playing blind football and futsal, so I’m super excited to have the opportunity to get back out on the pitch in the National League and combine with my experiences from all three formats of the game!”
