Cheltenham Town Women host Watford Women at Kayte Lane on Sunday (2pm kick-off) as focus returns to the FAWNL Southern Premier Division.

After wins against Worcester City, Real Beford, Oxford United and Birmingham City Under-21’s, Tom Davies’ side are looking for a fifth successive win in all competitions.

Four goals from four different goal scorers last weekend saw Cheltenham cruise past Birmingham City in the FAWNL League Cup to all but secure top spot in the group before the final group game on September 28.

Issy Newns opened the scoring with a powerful effort from the edge of the box, with Courtney Jones adding a second not long after.

Una Lue grabbed her first of the season in the second half against the Blues, with Louise Guymira adding a fourth just minutes later.

However, opponents Watford are unbeaten in both league and cup, only dropping points in a 0-0 draw against Lewes on the opening game of the season.

Renée Hector’s side have won four of their last four encounters, including a 9-0 win over Chesham United last weekend in the FAWNL Cup.

In their last league fixture against AFC Wimbedon, a last-minute winner from Isabella Fisher was enough to pick up all three points, leaving the Hornets sitting third, joint on points with first-placed AFC Bournemouth and second-placed Lewes.

Watford are a familiar face to the Robinesses, who faced them twice last season, a season in which they narrowly missed out on promotion, finishing third, whilst Cheltenham finished eighth.

The hosts will be looking to rectify the misfortunes against this opponent, losing 2-0 away and 2-1 at home against the Hornets in the 2024/25 campaign.

Last time out against the Hornets, goals from Maddison Perry and Bianca Baptiste were enough to give Hector’s side all three points, despite Anais Trinci getting a goal back on the hour mark for Cheltenham at Kayte Lane.

Tickets are £6 for adults, and £1 for Under 18s. Cheltenham supporters can purchase their tickets in advance HERE, whilst visiting Watford fans can purchase their tickets here.
