Robinesses confirm first summer signing

July 3, 2025

Cheltenham Town Women have announced the signing of goalkeeper Charlotte Haynes. The shot-stopper joins the Robinesses from Swansea City in the Genero Adran Premier, having joined the Swans in 2024.

Haynes expressed her delight at joining up with Tom Davies’ side ahead of the 2025/26 season. “I’m looking for a new challenge and Cheltenham will help me progress and grow throughout the whole season, so I’m really excited to get going.”

Haynes has previously played in the Women’s National League in Division One South-West with Keynsham Town Ladies, winning player of the season during the 2023-24 season.

On stepping up to Tier Three football, Haynes said, “It’ll be tough. There are good teams in this tier, and I’m looking to push myself as much as I can and just improve as much as I can.”

Cheltenham had a historic 2024/25 campaign, having made it to both the FAWNL Plate final and the Gloucestershire FA County Cup Final, and Haynes revealed those achievements influenced her decision to join the Robinesses.

“There is a great set-up in place here at Cheltenham, they did really well last year, and I did notice that, and that’s one of the main reasons why I’ve decided to join the club.”

To the fans, Haynes said with a laugh, “I’m tall! I just want to be myself, and that’s all I can be, and I just enjoy what I do.

“I want to learn every single day, every training session and every game. I want to win, and that’s the reason I’m here.”

Tom Davies’ side continues their pre-season preparations with fixtures against Cardiff City on Sunday, June 29, and Leafield Athletic on July 6.
